My Journey so Far...

High School

"I love C++!"
That was the first programming language I learnt in school. It gave me the feeling that I could create anything I want using this tool! During this period, I created a time-table design software for my school and a program to view the structure of chemical compound in 3D environment. Finally, I decided to take computer Engineering.

Computer Engineering @ S.I.E.S GST

The excitement about creating software
The journey in the world of engineering begins! Object oriented programming using Java. Algorithms, Operating Systems, software engineering.

Projects, Projects and more Projects
I started working on software projects like Student Feedback System, DIGAR, Technical Festival website and the College information management system

"I am not a coder, I only make software to make things easier!"
Participated in coding competitions. Won the first prize for two consecutive years. But I never really enjoyed coding that way. You should'nt write programs to show people how intellegent you are, you should write programs to make their lives easier!

It takes much more than programming to make good software systems
Micrsoft WPF was launched. That got me thinking, designing a nice UI is important. But it's not just about bringing in the "shiny", but making things simple and easy! I explored that while working on projects like CuteJava and the Dynamic Keyboard

HCI and Information Science @ School of Information

I never thought Psychology is so useful! Information Architecture matters!
My coursework in Fundamentals of Human Behavior and Information Architecture gave me a completely new perspective about designing software. See how I used that knowldege in my part-time job, and for my termpaper on Google Docs.

Good design needs good research! gastromighty.com
In my course in Evaluation of systems and services, I learnt about various resesarch methods. Me and my team are currently conducting user research for our client "Gastromighty.com". While volunteering at the Chicago Archives of Endangered Language Research I used these skills to conduct 6 user interviews and design the wireframes for their website (see here).

Currently, I am interning as a UX Designer at TechSmith Corporation and I love every part of it!
